How Offline Mode Works
What Works Without an Internet Connection
TRANSFORMR is designed to keep you logging even when you're underground, on a plane, or in a poor-signal gym.
Available offline:
- Logging workouts (all exercise types)
- Logging meals (manual entry and barcode scanning — camera AI requires connection)
- Logging body weight and measurements
- Viewing previously loaded dashboard data
- Completing morning check-ins
- Accessing previously viewed articles in this Help Center
- Viewing your workout history
Requires an internet connection:
- AI Meal Camera photo analysis
- AI Chat Coach
- Partner sync (real-time)
- Wearable data sync
- Challenge verification
- Leaderboard data
How Sync Works
When you come back online, TRANSFORMR automatically detects the connection and syncs all locally stored data to the cloud within 1–2 minutes. You don't need to do anything manually.
If you logged data on two devices while offline (e.g., phone and Apple Watch), TRANSFORMR merges the data intelligently — duplicate entries for the same exercise at the same timestamp are deduplicated, keeping the entry with the more complete data.
Conflict Resolution
If a sync conflict occurs (same data edited differently on two devices while offline):
- For numeric data (weight, reps, calories): TRANSFORMR keeps the higher value and flags the discrepancy
- For text entries (journal, notes): both versions are preserved; you're prompted to choose which to keep
Extended Offline Use
TRANSFORMR caches your last 30 days of data locally on the device for offline viewing. If you'll be offline for an extended period (e.g., a wilderness trip), your logs will accumulate locally and sync when you return.
Storage: Offline logs use approximately 1–2 MB per day of activity data. AI Meal Camera photos are compressed before caching.
Offline Indicator
When TRANSFORMR detects no internet connection, a small offline badge appears in the status bar at the top of the app. This disappears when sync resumes.
