Ghost Mode

Ghost Mode is TRANSFORMR's signature workout feature. It brings your previous performance into your current workout as a real-time overlay — giving you a concrete target to beat, set by set.

How It Works

When you start a workout, TRANSFORMR automatically detects if you've done that same workout before. If so, a ghost of your previous session appears:

  • On the workout screen, you'll see your current reps alongside a ghosted version of what you did last time
  • For each set, you can see: ghost weight × ghost reps vs. what you're about to do
  • A progress bar shows whether you're ahead of or behind your previous session in real time
  • A subtle haptic pulse fires when your ghost completes a set, prompting you to match it

The Ghost Race

At the top of the workout screen, you'll see a "race" indicator:

  • Green / Ahead — you've exceeded your ghost in total volume so far
  • Yellow / Tied — you're matching your ghost
  • Red / Behind — you're below your previous session's pace

The race is based on total workout volume (weight × reps × sets), not just individual exercises.

Which Workout Becomes the Ghost?

By default, the ghost is your most recent instance of that workout. You can change this:

  1. Tap the ghost icon at the top of the workout screen.
  2. Select Choose Ghost Session.
  3. Pick any previous instance of that workout from your history.

You might choose your all-time best session to challenge your peak performance, or last week's session for a more realistic target.

Personal Records (PRs)

When you beat your ghost on a specific lift, TRANSFORMR logs a Personal Record:

  • A trophy icon appears on that exercise row
  • You get a notification at the end of the workout summarizing all PRs set
  • PRs are tracked per exercise, per rep range (e.g., 1RM, 5RM, 10RM)

Availability

Ghost Mode is available on Pro, Elite, and Partners plans. It works for all resistance training workout types. It is not yet available for cardio workouts (treadmill, cycling), but that's on the roadmap.

Turning Ghost Mode Off

If you'd prefer to work out without the overlay, tap Settings → Workout → Ghost Mode and toggle it off. You can also disable it temporarily at the start of any individual workout by tapping the ghost icon and selecting No Ghost Today.
